I have seen some fords with these style beds and was told they were from the factory, but I can't find any info on them.

**just checked out the KSS beds, looks like the ones I have seen, thanks!

Found this in another thread in chit chat. This is something I have been thinking about doing for a LOOOONG time, telescoping lumber rack too. Pretty much have to build a flat bed and hang the bedsides on it

Bump for MOAR! Just saw the Xtreme 4x4 show on Spike where he's building a chase truck from a NNBS 2500 Chevy with the tool bed. Freakin' sweet. Used the BDS 7" lift and Road Armor winch bumpers front and rear. Only aired part 1 so far.

Here it is on the truck. Really happy with it - it will look better with the 285's that are getting put on this weekend. Got some Warn HIDs for it too. Need to add some wprk lights, a jack mount, and a couple other things. We have e-track in the bed to secure the fuel cans and a 2' x 4' lockable box from TSC (crappy quality aluminum box, but price was right) Rack holds 3 truck spares.

Service body is all aluminum, which is cool being in a salt state. All in, i have about 300 bucks into the whole setup after selling my old bed. Dumb luck it turned out to be red! Color isn't perfect, but we are working on wrapping it, just out of time at the moment.

Biggest problem with this thing is the tool i need in the shop is always in the truck...you can carry alot of crap (too much!)...working on accumulating another tool set, but it takes time.

But bother putting good tools, Snap On, Mac or even Craftsmen, in the chase truck. Tools always get lost and misplaced in the desert...all our chase trucks are equipped with Harbor Freight hand tools. Cheap to replace when you lose them.

Is that air bag pressing on a diaphragm to push out the fuel or is it holding the pressure for the fuel tank? That seems awesome.

I'll find some pics of ours, but here is the down and dirty.

2005 GMC Kodiak, with the Duramax and Allison Transmission

Kenwood 50w radio in cab, 7 inch GPS mounted as well. There is a remote mount for the kenwood radio in the box

Custom build bumpers front and rear with Superwinch electric winches 18,000 lbs with Master Pull Superline XD synthetic rope.

Lifted a little to clear 40 inch Michelin rubbers

Custom bed that includes a diesel powered bobcat welder and generator

Multiple tool boxes on each side that have LED lighting throughout

Two rigid light bars that can be extended and swiveled for pit use.

I'm a little bummed, the truck is heading to Dallas for a trade show and I am heading to V2R without it.

Thanks for posting the pics - sick rigs.

I saw the second show with Ian's, they were tweaking the diesel and made the roof rack. Such cool trucks.

Wheel nets for chase trucks

I run custom wheel nets from Mac' Custom Tie Downs on my Ram 2500 chase truck.
The folks at Mac's made it real simple for me to get the look and functionality I was after. I recommend them for all your custom net requirements.

I believ is an Air Jack. Nothing to do with the fuel.

Here is the start to my chase truck. It's a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 with 6.7L Cummins. So far, we have installed a 2" leveling kit, Firestone airbags, 315, 70-17 Mickey Thompson MTZs, Viair compressor & 2.5 gallon tank, roof rack, safety flag, and fire extinguishers. We also have installed a sweet transfer tank setup which allows us to safely and legally carry 50 gallons of diesel and 50 gallons of unleaded.

I would like to work on getting a generator/welder & some front & rear-facing lighting installed in the future as well as a radio & GPS.

The air bag you commented on is for the jack; one guy can operate it and it lifts the whole end of the TT up in about as fast as you can pull the trigger. In regards to the fueling system, it is pressurized and fills the TT up in the time it takes to change the tires. Still less cool?

If you ever see Canidae Racing pit go check them out, very fast.

There are some very cool chase trucks in here. We are happy as long as the chase truck has some good communications
