AAM 11.5 locker

im looking for a locker for the rear of an 03 hemi 2500, so far all ive found is ARB and the oem power wagon locker, is there anything else out there? i know everyone loves ARB's but i sure have had a lot of compressor probs and line leaks with them in my Jeep.

Did you swap an 11.5 in your 03? In 03 Diesel and Gas 2500 both came with 10.5 where the 3500 came with the 11.5. After 03 all diesels got the 11.5 and 10.5 stayed on the hemi 1500 mega cabs and 2500 hemi's.

Detroit has locker and I believe Yukon also has locker for the 11.5

This is correct... mostly. IRRC all the HO's came with a 11.5 in 2003.

My project rig is a 2003 Ram 2500 with the Hemi, so I can confirm that what you have is an AAM 10.5 (loosely referred to as a Generation II 14 Bolt)... unless you have done an axle swap. As of 3 months ago when I was doing all my project planning, the only locker available for that axle is the same one AAM built for the Power Wagon. The locker is available, but it's a helical E-locker.... see here...

If you notice, ARB does make lockers that come up on their search, but it's for the AAM 11.5 and for the GM-AAM 9.25 (same carrier GM uses, but on a solid axle).

If you find anything different please let me know, so I can hang on to the axles for a future project instead of selling them to someone that thinks they can turn their 1500 into a 2500.

sheet sheet guys

so i guess there is no ARB for the 10.5? the other question is, ive heard the powerwagon uses the 10.5 diff but the bigger shafts from the 11.5 so im not sure the AAM elocker would work either, although the website on RRP and Just Diffs looks like it should??

I have not heard that about the PW's axle shafts but I would go with the PW locker that way you can do a clean install with the factory switches.

Another thing to look at is just getting the shafts if that in fact is the issue they are not to hard to find and places like yukon have them.

Says it fits 2003-2011 Ram with Hemi AND the 2005-2011 PW, so the if the PW has larger shafts (I don't believe they do because according to AAM's website they only make 1 set of shafts for the Chrysler 10.5), it must still have the same diameter and spline count as the other 10.5's.

spline count on the power wagon shafts are the same as a 11.5 aam

Yup. Both have 30 splines. Both are 1.43" Diameter max and 1.38" min. Replacement shafts for the 10.5 and 11.5 are that SAME. However, the 11.5 is built with 1541 alloy making it "beefier" than it's 10.5 counterpart.
