new plans for my truck help here
I been wanting a useable 4x4 that can double as a daily driver if need be. Not that it will be except during hunting season, but just in case.
My plans are as followed: -6 inch lift (unfortunly have a 3 inch body lift) -bumpers to where I can move the winch from front to back -16.5 rims and 37s (unsure if I really need beadlocks) -compressor on board my truck maybe hiding in a toolbox with other tools -got to decide to weather or not to leave it coil spring or go to a leaf spring front axle -beef up the dana 4x4 and rear end or just axle swap it. -new seats with harness(s) and if you think I left anything out please tell me I will have to do some research on it, but Im going to try to do it all myself. |

Be aware that receiver winches have a ton of drawbacks and very few useful features.
You won't need beadlocks unless you air down. If you don't air down, you will rarely find an air compressor useful. Going to leaf springs when you already have a link and coil suspension would be foolish. Leaf springs are a cheap method of converting a BR series from 2WD to 4WD, but not a good idea if it's already 4WD. Axle swaps are usually cheap for BR series trucks, I wouldn't waste any cash on the D44 if you are planning to actually wheel it on 37s. |

I might would go to 37s cause I can get them really cheap where Im at. However for now Im going to run 35s this hunting season and do some more work on the truck as far as locating axles and getting things built.
The beadlocks may not be useful for me yet, but I want to make a hot springs trip with the local jeep club for some trail action. As for the air pump and stuff I just want tools on board cause you never know when you are going to need them. |

If you go with 16.5" wheels you will DEFINITELY need some sort of beadlock. I would recommend a double beadlock like the hummers, I presume you are talking about using hummer tires too.

Would be what?? Using hummer locks and hummer wheels or...
It would be much easier to understand what you are talking about if you use complete thoughts instead of typing like you are sending a telegram. Dane

16.5" wheels don't hold tires very well because they don't have a very big safety rib to hold the bead on. That is why you would run 3 pc. H1 16.5 wheels.
16.5" wheels were the norm for heavy load carrying rated tires that would be hard to mount if the wheels had huge safety ribs. There is a thread somewhere around here about it.
