T case help needed please
I have a chance to get my hands on a awd transfer case from a 04-05 ram. However my truck is a 96.
I dont know if I need to run it was a divorced setup or try to connect it or would I need to get the whole trans and whatever else to go with it? If there is a older style of awd t-case that will be a easier swap please let me know! |

The AWD t-cases from the 04-05 rams are the NP244. They have a very narrow chain that just doesn't last for shit. I see them stretched to the point of skipping at very low mileage. Not to mention, they have the internally splined slip yoke design for the front driveshaft that doesn't work so well in non-IFS situations.
What is wrong with your t-case?

You do not want AWD on that truck, you would ruin it's reliability (relatively speaking). Not to mention, it is electric shift only, and would be a pain in the ass to adapt.
