STEP up DODGE!!!
I deleted my thread. Had quite a few responses. It's your turn. Who wants to step up and take the helm?
Yes, a lot of risk. You put your life out there. Forums are great until your backyard gets shit in. I blame all of you! You axe up one of my trails and I delete shit. FUCK.......I love posting trail reports and trips I go on. One person killed it for everyone. That is all it takes. You fuck with the place I love and find sacred and you die. If I find you I will Fix your ignorance. You destroyed 170 pages of knowledge and history for the people that follow this thread. Fuck you for being an asshole and fuck them for not finding you and beating your ass before you fucked us all.

So i gather you have experienced more people on your sacred trails and attribute that to your wide spread posts and pictures about the wheeling you do? That does suck dude, its no longer yours. everyone needs their place. To be honest, i figured it was only time since palin went for VP, they have been doing specials on Alaska like none other.

I will admit that I am sad to see your thread go.... It has really been a cornerstone in the Dodge section for the last few years, MINIMUM!! I know you will continue to build the truck, and other vehicles, and those of us that are interested, will keep in contact with you to see them!
I guess I will just have to start my thread, at long last!!!

I am pissed that this happened! Your thread was the main reason I logged on to Pirate. Sure, there were other threads of interest but, your thread was the first one I looked for. Sorry to hear about the vandalism but, even more sorry to see your thread deleted due to it.
I would start a thread but, none of my stuff is anywhere near the caliber of the Pirate faithful. LT. |

That's too bad, though I understand your reasoning. I go to places and see cool stuff, but don't post up pics or tell people where they are on the internet because fucksticks will just go and fuck it up or steal whatever it is. Sadly that is a fact. If you do a thread just about your build instead of all of your wheeling, that might be a direction to go?

When will the FUCKING MORONS realize that by actions of this kind you are fuckin it up for those of us who give a shit.
I have encountered more idiots than I like to admit in my travels. This is exactly why we continually lose access to our nations treasures and wilderness areas. Is it really that fuckin hard to comprehend? ![]() You don't FUCK with another mans shit. You leave it better than you found it. The reckless disregard sickens me. No wonder people are so tight lipped about the places they go and enjoy. Asked a couple guys with rigs on trailers the other day. " Where you guys headed?" North they said. "What area? Decent trails? How Technical? Full size rigs fit?" We gotta go they said. While I completely understand, I'm saddened that this is what we are coming to. Last edited by Country69; 08-25-2012 at 05:38 AM. |

How did he over react? The trails that he goes to were never raped by idiots and then the last couple years there getting destroyed and people losing property! I live in soutcentral Alaska and all the trails and tore up by kids and people that just dont care. If Dusty thinks that deleting his thread was the right thing to do then dont say he was over reacting. He is trying to protect what Alaska has to offer!!!

![]() Young kids (most of the time it's young kids) who have a 4x4 of any sort, or go out and explore are up to no good. That's everywhere. What are the chances you think of someone on Pirate doing being the people he's upset about? Very slim...Very. He overreacted because he assumed and took such a drastic measure on the issue. I think what he did was lame, but I also respect that it was his thread and his choice, I just personally disagree with why he did what he did off of assumptions. If he wants to protect what Alaska has to offer, power to him and good for him, honestly it's a good thing. There's other ways to do it though. If this sounds like I'm mad at Dusty, or trying to piss him off or anything, I'm not. I honestly loved the tech and the beauty he took the time to put into that thread, I just think he really did over react, but it's HIS choice in the end, and as a man, I respect that it means so much to him. because of people making bad decisions is why some forums and people keep their trail's locations hidden from public view.
a camera shot and a call to the park ranger is all the warning I need to remind people to conduct themselves in an appropriate manner on the trails. Sorry to see the thread go Dusty. Unfortunately we cant stop all the vandals

I'm just pissed/sad that all that tech/drunken wisdom/scenery pics is gone. Wiped out. Never to be read by new guys to the sport...

Great discussion. You're all right. Keep it going.
My rig is nothing special. You've all seen it and you all could build it. You know the old saying "Never tell em too much". I failed at that with my thread and the wheeling I do. It started as a couple good trips and turned into most every trip to every location. My deleting it has nothing to do with the people who have interacted with the thread for years. I worry about the guy that lives within driving distance and watches and never says a word. I was also talked to by a couple old timer locals. And if you think I would delete the entire build part of the thread your nuts. Its still out there in another place for my personal reference. If you are really interested in following my trips hit me up on Facebook. Dusty Windust. I post pictures there. Just got home from Caribou hunting tonight. No luck but some great country. You just don't realize whats happening up here...... http://www.newsminer.com/view/full_s...w_left_bullets

No kidding. You tread lightly in a 8k+ lb truck and cut tires most of the time and stay out of the throttle a lot. It's sad to see it go, because it was pretty relaxing to check out what it had to offer.Really sucks about the thread, but it is what it is. Best of luck Dusty. I take back what I said after your 1st reply, hope things get better. Last edited by Idaho4x4Bronco; 08-26-2012 at 05:38 AM. |
