Any one need a 440 and an almost unbreakable Auto?
I need to sell my motor and trans. 73 440, .030 over, aluminum dual plane intake, 4x4 cam and matching lifters and valve springs, flowkooler waterpump, Mean Green starter, Milodon oilpan, Mopar Performance electronic distributor, Jacobs coil, Chevy Q-jet, and a 14 inch K&N filter with pre-filter. Make me an offer. Don't be shy!
This tranny is the S**t! I have some good friends in the tranny business that wanted to see if they could cure the 727's problem of knockin out 1st and reverse. Ever happened to you? Imagine that! Here's what I got: 727 case 700 rpm torque converter full manual valve body billet servos(custom built for this project) B&M Mega shifter with a new cable Planetaries from a 2 ton Chrysler dump truck-straight cut gears! 3.11 first gear, lower than a 700R4! In fact, maybe the lowest auto to ever roam the earth! This thing shifts so hard and fast it will knock the pop can out of its holder! At this point it has a cracked case. I hit the transfer case skid plate hard enough to push the t-case up and crack the case in front of the tailhousing. Not a real big deal, just the cost of swapping the guts over to your old case. Make an offer, but be serious. This isn't your everyday rebuilt transmission. It is a one of a kind that would cost a fortune to build new. There are only 6 more transmissions in the US to retrieve the gearset from. I had to buy the whole transmission to get them. At this time, it has a Jeep 231 output shaft and is currently turning a Dana 300 t-case. I will sell that too if anyone is interested. Let me know. I just wanted the Mopar Boys to know first. Later, Cody

price
Oops. Sorry. I was trying to type that during my own B-day party. Got a little distracted. The shop that built the tranny for me told me that I would be an idiot and they would never build another trans for me again if I sold it for anything less than $1800. That's crazy. I do have a piss load of money into it, but I will sell it AS IS for $800. There are only 6 of the 2-ton autos left in the US so good luck if you want to build your own. I had to buy the whole transmission and its overdrive to get the planetaries. They owed the shop money so I got it cheaper, but it still cost me $700 for it. I will consider reasonable offers and am interested in trades.
Honestly, this is the sweetest auto you'll ever see. It shifts so hard and fast that it'll knock a pop can right out of your cup holder. If you run a 4 to 1, it is awesome 'cuz you can start out in 2nd or drive if you need a higher gear, that also works well in the muck. It is just like a clutch without all of the fancy footwork. It is now set up for a D300 and I'll sell that for $200. I also have an NP205 that I was running behind the 300 for another $200. As far as the motor goes, I don't know what it is worth. Absolutely nothing wrong with it. Only about 40,000 miles on it, and I have about $4000 into it, but I will need an offer on it. Thanks, Cody.
