BTW, the front axles are all ball joint, unit bearing versions with CAD system (2 pc passenger shaft) for the years you are interested in.

hey thanks so ALL 94 2500's have the 9.25"? if so, i will try to get a 95-up but will try to avoid the light duty 95 2500. i am assuming the D60 is stronger that the 9.25". i have a couple 95 V10's in the mix--- i like that D70 rear jazz thanks again |

9.25" has larger shafts than the d60, but the d60 is full floating. Also, the ring gear is .5" bigger on the d60.
Also, most v8 4x4 trucks I have seen have dana 70 rears, but most that I have seen have tow packages (ex: my buddys truck is an 01 ex cab long bed 4x4, tow package, camper tow package, 360 v8, auto, and it has a dana 60 front, dana 70 rear, and a np241HD transfer case. |

true, the 3/4 ton manual tranny rears are hybrid dana 80s.
also, the 94 2500s are not all the light duty. just in 94 and part of 95 they made a "light duty" 2500. there are regular "heavy duty" 94s. you can find more info here, including strengths, dimension, etc http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/specs/axle/rear_axle.html
