Is there any P/U truck lift kit fit w/ 39x15.5??? - Pirate4x4.Com : 4x4 and Off-Road Forum

I dont know much about Dodge trucks...

A friend of mine asked me "is there any lift kit for his v-8 P/U truck Dodge that can fit 39x15.5 tires?"
He will not do any rockcrawling...probabdly just for looking and 4x4 beach riding, I know what you are think! haha!
Any advice?

dodge truck is pretty vague... what kind? Power Wagon, Ram, Dakota, M-37, what? and what year and model?

i'm running 8 inches and 38x15.50's on a 10 inch wide wheel, they're a tight fit off road. he could probably run them if it only sees the street.

skyjacker is coming out or has just come out with a 7" lift that will allow you to run 40" tires--I heard it's not cheap, but haven't checked out the price personally....chris

I have been hearing $2000-$3000 depending on options. Also doubt that it will clear 40's without a body lift. Custom stuff from dstperformance.com is another option.

My '88 F350 crewcab (D60/14bolt) has a mere 2" lift with add-a-leaves. I'm currently running 325/85R16 Michelin XMLs (13X38.7") At first to run 9.00R16 Michelins (10X36") I needed only to replace the front bumper with something sticking out further. When I went to 11.00R16s (11X38.7"), still on stock rims, I needed the mild lift. When I went to the 325s, on 16X10" rims with stock backspacing, I had a choice of more major lift (probably 6") or major cutting. The truck is already high enough for general expedtion use, I don't run it in competitive rock-crawling!!! I went with Bushwacker flares and the major cut route and it looks just right!
The trend in trucks for this problem seems to be lift just as much as necessary for ground clearance, then get the rest of the needed fender clearance with the Sawzall. I'm certain I could run 15X39.5s now and probably could run 15X42s if I wished. The only rubbing now even with some articulation is full lock on the springs themselves, which is more a backspacing/tire radius issue than lift issue.

Here is mine with the Whiplash 10 suspension with 3" body lift...40" boggers on a 16.5x12 inch rim....this is the 1/2 ton truck with the axles from a 99 dodge diesel 2500.

Hey Rudezuk how is their lift kits I have herd alot of bad things about that co. but mostly on the Ford kits and them being cheap and not everything being the same or right length???
Is that kit the 5" springs and the 5" spacers on top? Do you off road with it? And how dose it hold up? What came with the kit?
Sorry for all the questions I am just a little interested in that kit

Yeah i do off road with it, that was the reason for the change in axles....5.13's and arb's too...
But the kit is pretty much everything you need...I had changed some things around on this such as a new drop pitman arm (instead of there custom one), a new drag link bracket, and i put RS9000's on it too. But for the most part, the straight axle lift kit is pretty simple. The front springs are 5.5" Sky jacket coils, with a 4.5" spacer...the rear is 4.5" Factory 3/4ton blocks, and the superlift 5.5" springs. But with this kit i have GOBS of flex, and goes anywhere that i can fit it.
