Speedo Adjustment

What's the best way to adjust the speedo on a 95? I thought I could just swap out the gear for a larger one but that doesn't seem to be the case. - thanks

I've done a bunch of them with a scan tool. You have a list of tire sizes, then the one at the bottom of the screen says rev per mile. So you calculate revolutions per mile and there ya go. But you need a scan tool first.

i installed a superlift truspeed calibrator. really handy if you switch tire sizes or gear ratios, also adjusts tranny shift points

its superlift part number #33002

What if you have a manual tranny like I do?

Do these OBDII style programmers work for that? Or how about the Superlift style ones?

Doesn't the Dodge have a 231 T-case like the Jeeps where you can just change out the speedo gear to the correct number of teeth for your gear/tire combo?

Purchasing a one of those sensors and splicing into wires seems like a very long way around it. All you need is a real(real as in not 100 bucks at autozone, but of a tool truck) scan tool. You can correct tire sizes with like 8 button pushes and a calculator. At out work with out 10k scanner(think we have to pay for it!), we charge 41 bucks to change it if the guys an ass. If your not an ass, its like 30 bucks or so.

OR you can splice into a VERY critical wire(abs). Then wait a year or so when that connection corrodes and the wire is now junk. Unless your splicing it a diffrent way then most of the kits I've seen do it in, this is inevitable.

It does but from the dealer, it's just the one gear. So you can't swap out one without swapping out the internal one too, right? And then that means tearing apart the t-case for all this mess.

There is a gear on the t-case output shaft that spins the gear on the sensor, all you have to do is pull the sensor, swap out the gear and stick it back in. It is one bolt and takes maybe 5 minutes

I can swap out my current 31 tooth gear with a gear of a different tooth count without swapping out the internal gear?

Thanks for the chart but I'm a little confused now. How can I swap out my 31 tooth gear for a 37 tooth gear without swapping out the internal piece as well? How can the internal, accepting 31 teeth, mate up with 37 teeth? You get a ring and pinion in a set. Isn't that the same case here? - thanks
