something bad happened
I removed the bodylift and unknowingly cut through one of the wireing harness, fitting in shock towers. The gas gauge wasnt working, PRND indicator not working, CEL's up the ass, truck wont move, wont start easy. ![]() Fixed the harness, most of the codes go away; only have reverse no foreward; tranny is makeing loud noise in P and N there goes weelin this weekend ![]() It's throwing a code that the TCM is not communicating. I go and get a new TCM, same problem. I probe deeper, find a pinout of the TCM wireing diagram, and I discover one of the grounds and two of the +12V are dead. I trace them to no avrail, all relays are good/fuses key on/off does crap, key switch is ok. So I splice in a switched 12v and a new ground. it WORKED, after ~20hrs of no sleep I sleep ![]() it drives! but I have one more code p0700. I need more sleep, cant pass emissions with a CEL EDIT replaced the TCM, have the standalone power, it works great no codes! Last edited by nick02; 09-20-2011 at 10:09 PM. |

I simply did an SOA with the 2wd dakota leaves, they are currently flat and starting to neg arch, flex unreal tho Anyways, my pinion angle is damn near perfect, upon pulling the DS I found that my 14b straps were spread wide and damaged out, and the 1350 DS yoke smashed on the ends... I belive my axle wrap was so bad, the pinion rotated up, bottmed out the u joint and caused the driveshaft to bend, it was bent in plane with the yoke ends too. I put the truck in 2wd and in park, pushed it back and forth and yep, that pinion moves like nuts. I NEED a fucking traction bar ![]() I also need to lift the rear 3" or so so some solutions come to mind #1 swap dak 54's for 63" chebbys #2 long Add a leafs to the dak spring pack #3 custom 54" spring pack what do you guys think? |

well, the new driveshaft is the shit... many said I couldn't run 1/4" on the street, never could get it to balance etc..etc
those fawkers be wrong ![]() had it up to 85 no issues; and my wierd 65mph vibraton is now gone. once again, I shoulda listened to people online in the first place... painted the trailer (damn trailer now has a better paintjob then the truck),fixed the sketch shit, and did an SOA on 35's this means I dont need a bed anymore ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

So the trailer fabrication and paint is all DONE
time to add the good stuff.. ![]() ![]() This leaf spring is not happy ![]() and time to fix the truck... going to drop the bed down, and add some 63's $41 bucks out the door for both at pull-a-part. There's like 20+ chevys but the idiots set the trucks down on the axle or leaf-springs; found a one ton chebby missing the 14B, with the five leaf pack, centering pin and overload missing but I didn't give a fuck, much better then dropping an axle to take the springs. 10 min job and I was outta there! bling bling ![]() here's my shackle/hanger design; going to cut up my old shackle and put the bushing sleeve inside, it is going to be bent 90deg for the fishplate to the side. ![]() front mount ![]() shackle .375" btw

Can I get more info from you on the dakota digital setup on your truck? What year is your truck and how exactly did you piggyback the rear vss to the one at the transfer case?
I need to get my speedometer working and all the info you can share would be helpful. Another option that I am looking at is to adapt the Ford 8.8 vss into the 9 inch housing but that seems to be alot more work than just messing with a few wires. Oh btw I am diggin the trailer build. Trailer is
![]() Why use the factory shackle bushing? Just use a piece of DOM and some standard bushing so they are simpler to replace - http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/...t_Code=BUSHDOM |

If you cant find an output sensor on your tranny simply weld a bicycle gear or something similar to somewhere on the driveline and make a bracket to hold your old VSS somewhere to read it; I saw some local guy do this on his 1500 ram SAS Last edited by nick02; 10-25-2011 at 09:04 AM. |
