well my weekend sucked. I had to change the drivers side u joint in my 97 Ram 1500. just getting the rotor and hub off are a pain all in their own but my day got even better when I went to press the u joint out. I put the shafts on the press and begain to press out the joint and all of a sudden I heard a huge snap. I looked down and the ear to my inner shaft BROKE!!!!!! so now it is completly junk and I had to call the dealership today to get a new one for witch they rapped me on cause they charged me 200 bucks for a stupid shaft!!! Dam trucks.....mumble mumble mumble

I had the same thing happen to me but both sides at different times but, i still has the warrenty and they covered it. Since then i have not wheeled my truck really hard. The problem is that they are always in motion even when you are not in 4 wheel drive. When you engage in 4wd it engages the pass. side shaft only, the drivers side is always on! I wish they had just left hubs on it. Would have solved alot of problems.

Amen to that
It turns out that the dealer ship gave me the wrong part and when I returned it for the right part they wanted to charge me 550 for the single shaft!!!!!! I told them to go pound sand and I went home and ordered a custom shaft from Moser Enginering and they only charged me 160 including shipping. I should get the shaft in on fri so hopefully I can get it fixed this weekend.
