yesterday my friend finished a 3"bodylift off on the above rig, and afterwards he took it for a drive and the steering completely ripped/broke out of the steering box, he was going around a turn and he slammed on the brakes and did not damage the truck anymore, I was just wondering if this has happened before?

You probably should get a Borgeson or Flaming River steering shaft with a body lift. The stock steering shaft will probably never hack it.
