just picked up a 85 w150 for a work truck and am wondering about the 4x2 conversion...will there be mods required to the xfer case, or will it be just hubs? i know some gm's had a screwed up deal where you had to modify the xfer or it would just lock up.

85 are already part time 4X4. If your question is about adding hubs they are a bolt on ,however, if you do that you still have the CAD to deal with. If you want hubs without the CAD I would find the front axle from an 80 to 84 to swap in.
