I've been considering making some brake rotors, any metalurgists here? would 4140 work harden and crack? Due to the horrible price on the full time rotor and hub one piece deal on the mid to late 70s trucks I was kicking this one around in my head. I also have mopar car fleet and have seen brembo calipers mounted on 13" rotors on a b body, filled me with lust! This is probably too seldom visited site, (the dodge board section) but wanted to see if I was considered crazy before posting to a wider visited area.

I tell ya what........ I don't know what you can use for a rotor, but if you do make one, patent and sell that bitch, you'll make a fortune. There's millions of people out there that are tired of spending huge amounts of money on those things.
