Diesel Dana 70 WMS-WMS widths?
Maybe I'm retarded, but I couldn't find anything on this when I searched.
I am wondering if first generation and second gen dodge diesel SRW dana 70 axles are the same width? I don't care about spring perches or shock mounts, just about WMS-WMS width. I want to put a dana 70 from a first gen cummins into my second gen diesel. Again, sorry if this seems like the wrong forum - this seemed like a better place than the tow rig forum. Thanks! |

Nope, the 1st gens are narrower. A first gen is about 65-66".

I think the later disc brake ones are in the neighborhood of 71" or so. Just thought I'd throw that in the mix as well.
I have seen an early 2nd gen rear installed on a 1st gen, and it was kinda wide. I would imagine a 1st gen rear in a 2nd would be pretty silly looking unless you used less backspacing on the wheels to move the tires out. Travis..
