So I went out on a run in the snow a while back and the front end made a funny noise. huh oh well everything seem to be working fine must of been the locker unloading. then went out rock crawling a couple of weekends ago and it wasnt the locker I had broken the front left U-joint and si it apeared to be working just not making a constant noise. I had drove it a long way in the snow with out trouble and the in the rocks the extra bind finished it of and the shafts were chewed up pretty good and it was binding and ended up breaking some of the bolts that hold on the high steer arms. was kindof a bitch to limp out but made it and I am really getting tired of broken shafts. I will get pics later I am at a loss as to why this one broke the snow was heavy but typicaly there isnt enough traction in the snow to break shit.sure cant wait to upgrade to 2" shafts I am almost out of spares.

You gonna have to step down to some 48's or something until you get OEM's?

if I had a set I would have all ready, and Im not going to put 42s on it. I need to not break the ones I have left or I will be buying OEMs for both sets of axles, i broke into my other set of steering axles to keep me wheeling. and my plan on the other axles is a 2 seat,4 cyl, tube buggy on rocks and 42s.and hope like hell I dont need 2" OEMs for that one also.

been wheelin the hell out of it to date I have broken 4 shafts. I pick up a set of axles for the next project and have 1 set of spares left before I am forced into 2" up grades.I am hoping I can make it until fall before spending the dough. I also had a ZXL sidewall come apart. and scored a set for replacements when I got the axles. Between Racing and Demoderby I am only able to make it out 2 or 3 times a month which is just enough to remain partly sane, so I should be able to make it on the shafts I have and then go big for the fall/winter wheelin season. I also put a dent in the passenger door while crawlin through a hole a tad bit tight. kinda bummed me out, was trying to keep the body nice. Should be able to pop most of it out from the inside we will see. My buddy said a few more dents and he will be able to drive it, instead of my beat ass cruiser. Still workin on figuring out where to take it for my yearly out of state wheeling trip. this job I am on will have me wraped up until September then MUST HAVE vacation before starting the next one.

I think all factors added up (gearing, tire size, weight ) as I have said before I am twisting them off not shock loading them and I only have a little 5.2

so I was doing a front dig when I broke my last shaft. And I broke the joint and then of course I go ahead and try to power through it and it binds up in the knucle, and snaps the shaft too. this is all cool except it took out the locker also. I had to pull it all apart weld up some spiders and then of course back to wheelin!!!!!! the trail that we have been working on is now officially open and it is bad ass for sure not a trail for slackers. here are some pics that someone else took I was too busy wheelin

yea stupid!! it was laying flat until he drove over it then as it slid/stood up, the right front planted on the face of the other rock and kicked him askew. but if it wasnt for that stupid rock getting caught under the slider, I am sure he would have been over. the trail is called Quack Attack and is out of benson snow park by Hoo Doo ski area, santiam pass.

Off to a new trail
So I have been out busy selling all my shit( the stuff I dont want ) and packing up. I have taken a job in and heading to northern Wyoming. where the liberals are not just running around fuckin things up. I should also be able to drive Overcompensation on the roads with out much harassment yahoo. I am also posting to help cover some of the dumbass posts with something that is more important than what tire I should run with the 4 link I dont know anything about questions cant wait to scare the pants off some unsuspecting honda driver on my way to the trail
