On with the build! Had to take the day off work but I got her most the way done today, enough to get it back on the road and do a few small flex tests, nothin big enough around the neighborhood to get full flex, gonna have to wait till the weekend![]() Got all the sheet metal welding finished up, grinded and painted. My fancy ass dimond plate bedrail covers fitted and bolted on. Only chrome I like .Storage rack mounted. Gastank hooked up and bolted down solid. Was able to reuse the fuel neck, mounted that to the rack(nothin fancy) Think thats about it. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Left to do:
-Tailgate(probably gonna end up looking similar to turbosinpers only because it just so happens that I have a ton of the same material ![]() -Bumper, want to do something cool with that. -removable fenders to keep CHP outta my ass. -Spear tire mount, high lift mount, tools.....ect -Vertical sheet metal gaurd infront of the gastank -Remount rear shocks ontop of axle inside of wheelwells -Get rid of the cluster fuck of E-brake cables and make it look bitchin under there -Gonna make a flat transmission/t-case crossmember with the leftover from the bumper. Thatll be it for a little while. Next on the list down the road is gonna be 44's, boatsides, linked frontend, lower it JUST A BIT assholes , Exo-Cage.............................

![]() According to TEX of the mud forum, they've been making 44" TSL's for 15" rims for 20+ years though. Agreed on turbosniper's truck being wicked. Ive stolen many pics for background pics as inspiration for my build.

This is how you respond to someone with a legitimate question? And when they remind you that you side-stepped the question, you come back with this?
![]() Can you not take suggestions of others without taking offense? Not okay with somebody saying there is a different way to do something? Insecure much? Or is it that you are just a complete dick for no reason?
Either way, I hope that retardedly tall truck flops over. Maybe you'll get crushed. I also call out all of you fuckers that talk mad shit on everybody, but won't say anything about the thorn turds and gigantically tall retardedness. "Needs bigger tires." You kiddin? That thing needs 49's to justify the height, and that doesn't help the center of gravity. This type of rig used to elicit 12 pages of bashing and flaming so that his dumb ass would leave or (GASP) take constructive criticism. Especially after his response to a LEGIT question. I understand many of you probably just read that sentence and moved on. I, on the other hand, realize that this shit wouldn't happen in person. That's a promise.

I also don't see why you wouldn't pull the body lift. That was the biggest thing that shyed me away from going to a leaf sprung front on my 2nd gen, it would have been insanely tall for my type of wheeling.

American- True, I did just read over it, although your correct it was a dick move.
OP- American does make a good point as to the reasoning of why Mountain Ram and Dusty still have their body lifts, and how your situation is different. Ditch the thornbirds, and thank me later. Actually, you can send me the $275 (roughly) it cost me to have a new one shipped to the door simply because my stepdad shared your taste in tires. ![]()

The tires are rediculously small for such a large truck (and thornturds suck), but body lift bashing is a little much...
I put my BL on when there weren't any lifts taller than 5" for these (1995-96) so I could clear 38s. A body lift won't give any suspension flex, but it does give cheap tire clearance AND keeps the center of gravity lower than 3" more suspension (frame & drivetrain don't move up). As for Tall trucks- look at TTC and they all run huge tires on very tall trail rigs. I have personally wheeled with Roger King and his ELMO Dodge- it is HUGE next to my truck- he has flopped it, but it is MEAN as hell! Some could bash this guy for 50 pages like Bajabomber, but he is working on the truck and wheels it. Lets move on from the stupid tall with a body lift... Todd

I wasn't body lift bashing. I was asking a question. As an engineer, I feel that most aspects of a design should have some kind of reasoning involved. Your body lift makes sense to me. In fact, I have run body lifts on 3 different rigs now. They have their place, that is for sure. I don't see it in this application. Just cuz I don't see the reason doesn't mean it doesn't exist, so I asked. Pretty simple actually...

BSME here... was once a suspension design engineer. I am totally based in logic and common sense... the technical knowledge just supports that.
His response to your question wasn't worth reading, but part of your response was equally worthless. You hope he rolls and calling out the rest of us... you can do better than that. I don't see a need to really flame him for anything other than his response to your legit question... what does that make me...
