Yeah, check on that. The only gears available in '89 for a D70 was 3.07, 3.55, 4.10 and 4.56. If it's tagged as something odd, it may have been swapped in.

Yup, can't believe that gear either, governed at 2600 rpm you'd only be able to go 57 mph. Seems like a good truck though.

About time. Been wondering about your build for a while. You were going full steam then dropped off for a couple months.

Im gettin there
Parts are gonna start rollin in real quick. Got the coilovers a week or so ago, Ill set those up with coils after I get the front end linked and the coilovers mounted. ![]() Got my upper link towers from kyky777 today ![]() ![]() Also had him order up my link material, that should be here around tuesday. Going with 2.5x.500wall for the lowers and 2.0x.250wall DOM for the uppers. By then I should have my skidplate designed and ready for him to cut and bend, fab up a few more link mounts for the frame side, start mockin up suspension, mount the coilovers, get some coils and move on to the steering finally!

Figure I might post in here sence its been awhile. Slowly but surely this damn thing will get built!! Be busy past month or 2 with work but thats a good thing, rackin up the doe for when I get the time to spend it. Last big, pricey thing on the list is steering and Im hopin to pick that up next week, goin with PSCs 3.0 double ended ram kit for a front rockwell, figure do it right the first time. After that its just a few more little details to finish up. Might even able to get some winter wheelin in this year!!
But as for now Im still mocking up links/coilovers and figuring out what type of mounts Ill need. Hacked off my bodymounts for now so I can go with something like this for my uppers on the outside of the framerails.(no way in hell Ill order from ballistics!!) Then Ill build my new body mount off the upper link mount. ![]() Get those tacked in place and I can pull messurements and figure out where to set my lower links.

![]() ![]() ![]() ready to be drilled and welded

Still need to bend my back plates broke my vise the first try, but other then that and welding they're done. Just tacked them for now incase I need to change anything but I dont think so they turned out pretty good, damn near exactly the same and pretty damn close to ballistics. Was going for the 3 hole adjustment but didnt take in consideration ballistics designed theirs for a 9/16 hole and Ive gotta have 3/4 so I ended up only having enough room for 2 holes......but 2 holes are better than 1 right
.![]() Ground off the rest of the left overs from the body mounts and old leafspring mounts and tacked up the new mounts. ![]() ![]()

Thanks. Ya now the lower link mounts/skidplate which Im still a little unsure on. Originaly I was thinkin just a "flat" 1/2" or 5/8" plate bolted to the bottom of the frame rails with some bracing and then my link mounts welded straight to the 1/2" plate, but after picking up a couple small chunks of 1/2"(nowhere near the amount I need)I quickly had second thoughts?!? Plus with a straight flat bellypan I dont have enough room for bracing between my transmission and skidplate. So now Im thinkin something along the lines of a skidplate made from about 3/8" plate that bolts to the bottom of the frame rails using 5 or 6 bolts per side and has about a 1-2" drop in it so I have enough room to run a good amount of bracing on the inside and then mount my lower link mounts to the bottom of that. Not sure how thick of material I should use though?!? Gonna be a heavy pig thats for sure, my guess is between 5000-6000lbs.

Pickin up some more parts this week. Complete kit still in the original packaging for $1300.- + shipping
.http://houston.craigslist.org/pts/2610700982.html After that Ill focus 100% on finishing up the lower link mount/skidplate and then start setting up the coilovers finally. Get those dailed in, mount up my steering, clearance the frame for the front brakes at full compression, mount my bumpstops, finish my driveline and the front end will 100% done...so to speak. And a trac-bar, some shocks, and a driveline will wrap up the rear end. Damn near done!!
