i love the diesel. im not sure if it would be a good swap for everybody. i can do all my own work and make alot of my parts. it still cost a shit ton of money. just up grading my wheels and changing it to manuel and black box and t case, im like 4000 deep and still not done!

Well I have the black box in. Was painless. Did a little testing on a telephone pole. That's about it. Headed to the dunes tomorrow. Pics to come.

the two piece rear shaft is so much better. dont have it hanging down dragging on everything.

If I were ever to get the cash for it, I would go with a Black Box also. I've also been looking at Offroad Design's new Magnum Box which is a little shorter and especially for the NP205 transfer case.

Not really an option for you Dusty unless you swapped to a Ford NP205, but it's an interesting piece either way.

i would still take the black box. its only .75 longer but 500 dollars cheaper.
also in dustys case the make a black box i that is even shorter i think its only 5in long

Good points. For me the Magnum might be the way to go since 3/4" is still a decent amount when dealing with a Ramcharger wheelbase and D60s. It will probably never happen anyway but I can dream, lol.

You've got me all wound up with the 2 piece d/s. Looks pretty slick. What is your wheelbase about? Roughly how did you go about sourcing your 2 piecer? What is the pricey version vs. the budget version? Carrier bearing types? Are there any cons to this setup?

Yours is the first I've seen and never thought to consider it, but now am b/c I'm a QCSB.

the shaft came out of the diesel truck i got the motor out of. its a 1410. didnt cost a thing i shortened it in house made a carrier bearing holder. didnt even put in new u joints. i used to drag my back shaft on everything. ben in some nasty and havent hit this one yet

im liking the stick. only down side to diesel is its hard to hear your spotter. i dont think ill ever wheel something without ever again.
