Panamint Valley Days - November 12-14, 2011
It's almost here!! The extended weather forecast shows low 70s during the days and low 40s for the nights. Sounds like good wheeling and camping weather to me.
FYI - GAS - for those that rely on gassing up in Trona, the Chevron's pumps are closed. Apparently they got water in the tanks or something. The store is still open. The other station "T-Stop" is open for gas, bathrooms and store. I didn't get a report on whether Panamint Springs has gas but even if they do, it's always 20+ cents higher per gallon. See ya'all out there!! Steve |

Then Saturday I took about 40 vehicles up to the Defense Mine. Sunday, I took a small group on a hike up the waterfalls in Surprise Canyon, explaining how we used to be able to drive up this road. The weather was great!! |

We had a pretty ggod time this year, didn't roll anything off chick rock but heart stopped once when the rocks started slipping. I don't want to spend another night like last year again.
The Hanford Trail Busters went on the Friday run through Cummis, broke my right side fron axle 30' from the end of the bypass. Awesome trail. Here are a few photo's fom our trip. ![]() ![]() ![]() http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/h...ys/Carnage.jpg ![]() ![]()

It was good to have all of the Scouts on the trail. I think we had 8 or 9 of them. We had Jeeps falling apart but only a flat on a Scout that I saw!! My joke of the day: 40 vehicles with 10 scouts. The Scouts represented 25% of the vehicles and 50% of the weight. LOL! Okay, not so funny but I had to do it. Where are you at in HB? I'm near 5 Point Shopping Center. edit: Nice poser shot in the slot there cweed!! |
