Good to hear I'm not the only one that had that first reaction.

Use fuses and relays so you don't set your rig on fire.

This.

You'd be amazed at the amount of morons that argue they don't need fuses and relays.

True

I always like to give them an example of what their stupidity will eventually cause...

Perfect timing. I am rewiring my whole buggy right now.

How about the "Its about the little things - Wiring" thread gets moved over here?

I always have to search for it.

If elected, I would introduce a bill banning scotch locks!
They work best for transfering corrosion to the wiring inside the insulation. The ONLY thing faster is to strip the insulation off and throw the bare wire in a bucket of salt water. But only by a few seconds.
Also, outlaw wire nuts on automotive use.

I'm usually an electricians helper over the summer. I think its pretty neat work but they tell me to stay in college?

Is that just job security for them? Trying to keep people from over populating the trade or what?

DROID...

Do it. Maybe it will make them improve the design or come up with a better excuse as a " bad batch ". I have 3 worthless optimas sitting in the garage that I can't warranty nor do I want another one back.

Will this be the place to argue solder and heat shrink vs crimping?

I like the adhesive shrink tubing. The glue melts when you heat the shrink and forms a nice waterproof seal.
