Wiring my new buggy

Since we've got this nice new forum, I figured I would post up some pics of the progress of the wiring on my new buggy. Just got these pics tonight. We hope to fire her up for the first time in a few days, just in time before Moab. Hope everything works!

Very clean work. I'm a little doubtful of the abilities of the on board air though

So it looks like one 12 volt aux. outlet and one more that accepts a glow plug smoke lighter. Why not use two of the same? Maybe one is metric and the other standard.

Because there's a lot of electronics on a buggy?

Dual fuel pumps, arbs, air compressors, HIDs, LEDs, ARB fridge outlet, front 12v outlet, Ipod/intercom, race radio, two GPS units, racepak gauge, race radio, interior light, horn, parker pumper, fans, winch, etc. etc.

Do you have to go over a checklist, while your copilot flips switches before you start that thing?

main buss a Check
main buss b Check
fuel pump Check
headlights Check
Radio Check
Afterburner Check
Margarita machine Check

Sweet setup.

I could be wrong but; looking at the opening post third image in. There is a down tube, he is most likely using the pump as a stand-in for that down tube to allow for room for the cable to be routed around the down tube.

16 Switches!

Start
Ignition
Front ARB
Rear ARB
Horn
Headlights
Light Bar
Interior Lights
ARB Compressor
Viair Compressor
Drivers Heated Seat
Passenger Heated Seat
Parker Pumper (Off-On-On type for Off-Low-High operation)
Electric Fan Bypass (On-Off-On type for Auto-Off-Manual operation)
Fuel Pump 1/2 (On-Off-On type for Fuel 1 from computer-Off-Fuel 2 manual)
Spare Accessory (For future use, oil cooler fan? rock lights? etc.)

9 relays:

Fan 1
Fan 2
Fuel 1
Engine ECU
Ignition Accessories / Fuel 2
ARB Compressor
Viair Compressor
Headlights
Spare Accessory

Beyond all that there is wiring for tail / brake lights, ARB fridge, 2 GPS, in cab winch control, race radio, accusump, fuel gauge, racepack dash, and of course the Turn Key LS harness to contend with.

The bike pump was used to simulate the dash down tube during mock up.

The different cigarette lighter outputs are a standard power point and a USB outlet.

It is a VERY busy car.

Progress is good, more pics to come, thanks for the compliments!

Doug
