When to use terminal blocks?

When and what loads is it appropriate to use terminal blocks for?

Are they primarily used for grounds?

I'm trying to learn how to wire my buggy correctly and I don't want ground wires here, there, and everywhere all over my vehicle . . .I have seen some high end, professionally done buggies and trucks with terminal blocks and the installs always look so clean. I really want to emulate this. . .

While we're at it. . .what about combining power and ground wires. . .I've seen this done for gauges before; all the gauges grounded to a common ground. Is this OK, preferable, or not?

Thanks again for the help!

I use them when I want to get stuff away from the battery. Also good for waterproof containers.

I like to use these for my grounds either working on a glass body or metal, usually one on each side of the fire wall. "sheet metal screw make crappy grounds"

they come in red also from other suppliers, I just can't find them at the moment.
