OEM Late model jeep terminals

I am attempting to cleanly add several fuse and relay accessory positions to my 97 jeep power distribution center. I have scoured the interweb for the OEM style wire terminals which will allow me hold mini and maxi fuses as well as mini relays, to no avail.

Anyone found a source for these terminals? Or even who the OEM manufacturer was? These year jeeps seem to be a mish-mash of Bosch, molex and other stuff I can't identify.

Andy

Honestly, your best option is going to be to buy however many relays you need along with the plugs for them. Same with the fuses, then get a radio shack project box and make your own "power distribution center" and wire it up.

Yeah, that's what I had before. was hoping to make the underhood as simple and clean as possible.

Another option is to go to the scrap yard and start looking under hoods. I have had good luck reusing Ford stuff.

Something like this.

I bet mouser.com has them, it's just finding them that's the problem... I'm going to try and do this with my 5.3 v8 swap, so I'll try and update if I end up finding the OEM terminals. The part numbers aren't listed in the factory service manuals, so hopefully I can find them going off dimensions.

I'm starting to think buying a complete PDC is my best option. I had a spare 95 HO PDC, and damnit if the terminals aren't different.

Jeeps = built from scraps.

The bulkhead is GM Metric Pack.... 280, 480 and 630.... As are some of the connectors.

GM Weather Pack is a good option for new circuits.

Both Metri and Weather Pack are available all over the web. I like Waytek myself.

For a PDC the Bussmann RTMR are hard to beat. Available in several flavors they offer a great, clean way to add circuits with and without relays.

http://www.cooperindustries.com/cont...5300_rtmr.html

BTW the RTMR uses Metri Pack 280 TANGLESS terminals. I have some extras.

Waytek sells them.

Thanks, that is a good option if my last ditch search does not come up with terminals for the OEM PDC.

What do you mean by terminals?

The Cooper Bussman stuff is nice, but getting your hands on some items is impossible.

This a Packard style 630 terminal. This is close to what I need for the relay plugs (except it lacks a square opening on the side of the terminal). I want bare terminals with no wires attached so I can attach wires, push them through the back of my OEM PDC, and have them lock into place so I can push fuses and relays in through the top.

Make sense?

Ah yes. I was thinking you meant from the battery to the PDC. The Ford stuff is the same way with each wire clipping into the back with a terminal like that. I just reuse the original wires, and splice in the new. It would have been nice to have new terminals to crimp on for a clean install.

The terminals are available from Chrysler, just they are stupid!!!!!!!!!!!! expensive.

Checking the latest revision of the part number, the MSRP is $1510.00.

I assume that's probably an entire pallet of terminals. Pretty standard across the board though for chrysler to do that with oddball parts.

FYI, you can get a terminal tool for almost nothing, and just visit the junkyard and pull them. The first gen dodge neon PDC is awesome for wiring a racecar or buggy, small, easy to wire, fits 8 bosch relays, 6 big fuses, and 7 micro fuses.

For you guys with Jeeps, or trying to figure out wiring repair schematics, chryslers tech site is:

http://dto.vftis.com/mopar/disclaimer.asp

You can input the year and platform and it will give you a list of connectors along with diagrams and schematics. Sometimes there are part #'s.

It wouldn't surprise me if that were the price for a single PDC, considering the XJ platform has been out of production for over a decade now.

I work at a Chry/Dodge/Jeep dealership, I am blatantly aware of how expensive OEM parts are.
One of the techs today had to replace a steering angle sensor on an 08 commander(basically a fancy electronic clock spring) list price is ~$780

that info on the dodge neon PDC is awesome though, I may go pick a couple up for future projects.

Just to throw out some more info on that PDC, here is a wiring diagram of it:

If you grab two of them from the junkyard, you'll have enough terminals to rewire the entire thing. If you take it apart, on the bottom side there is a piece of metal supplying both 12v and switched 12v to various relays and fuses. You can just remove it entirely, or use it as intended. I used to remove it entirely, and then wire it up my own way. Then I'd use MS paint to edit the wiring diagram, print out a cool label, and you're fusebox/relay center is setup for quick and easy repairs.

There are also two connectors coming off of it from the factory, so if you grab both of those you can easily remove it from the engine/chassis harnesses. The only strange thing is the two bolt positive battery cable connection, and it requires a 10mm wrench.

I used this setup in my old drag car, and it looked OEM, but cost me less than $10.

I used a Ford PDC from the yunkyard, ( $15 with relays & fuses included), plus couple hours of my time for the wiring.

I pulled it with the mounting bracket included and used the same bracket to mount in in my location- just bent it here and there-
in order to route the wiring to the relays and fuses per my needs I was required to open the box (time consuming).
I'm feeding the Ford PDC with a 6ga red wire.-can be seen starting from the xj stock PDC-

below you can see it in my XJ, in the drivers side, next to the hood hinge..
the pic shows the wires with terminals as initially installed, now all wires are soldered & shrink tube covered.
no issues at all, and I left some wires coming out of the ford pdc identified and ready for use (5, 10, 15, 30, 40 amp circuits)...in order to power them , I just need to install the fuses in ford pdc

I put much of the stuff under the dash to help keep under the hood clean and out of the elements. This is powered by a fused ign hot 40a relay with 10 ga pos/neg wire direct from the battery and runs all the low power draw stuff like my relays, lighted switches, OBA, heated seats, ect. I ran the wires through the firewall near the battery, just drilled behind the glove box and put in some grommets. There's a ton of room to put the components under the dash. I just picked up the two terminal strips from Radio Shack and mounted them directly to the two center vents. Right is pos, left is ground. This has helped reduce the wires I have to run through the firewall and provides a clean ground for everything.

I have a 94 yj and some terminals in my pdc look to be "ford standard block" style but I haven't tried them to be sure.

This link helped me find part numbers for connectors for my Power Wagon axles, it will give you the Mopar part # you can order from your dealer.

On my TJ I bought another PDC in a JY for all the terminals (10.00) on my Ram I found this nice Relay bracket off a GM FWD car (Pontiac 6000 IIRC)

It uses the pretty standard Bosch cube relays and mounts 6 of them cleanly and cost my 5.00 with 12 relays. I bought new connectors/pigtails from RockAuto online
