Windows based dash board gauges
Will here goes
I'm trying to run a windows touch screen for my gauges (an app) in dash on my TJ I'm running a 5.7 Chevy and I was going to connect to the obdI port and running everything thru the 7 inch touch screen window based computer. has any one tried or is doing this, any input would be great. If any good ideas for a 7 " or so touch screen that would work good for this application. Last edited by Bugalowjeep; 07-28-2012 at 08:41 PM. |

Haven't hooked it up my ODB port, but I do have an 8" Xenarc touch screen in the dash and it works great

What about just getting a 7 inch tablet running windows? I'm doing the same thing but for obd2 and with droid and it's amazing thus far. Along with the above mentioned, cameras, music, navigation it's killer
![]() Are you looking to use tuner pro or? |

I was told that the 89 5.7 Chevy runs a window based program OBDI and that I would need a windows base touch screen. apple and droid based will not work, I looked in to the kindle fire and was told that will not work. I like the to run revtech or some app the has gauges fuel temp oil. Plus use it at a gps and music

I think you misunderstood what I said, I have a droid based tablet for my obd2..yippy for me. What I was saying is there are already, and soon to be more tablets running windows 7 and 8 is on the way. That's what I'm telling you to find to meet your needs. |

I used WinALDL for data logging and sensor reading on my Chevy OBDI setup.
The dash board isn't that great but it was the best around for OBDI... I have not done much with TunerPro - but it is supposed to have a dash (I think...) |

I am saying there will be and are already windows based tablet. If you have a droid and obd2, read up on a app called torque to do what I and others on here are doing. Last edited by supersize75k5; 07-30-2012 at 12:42 PM. |

I'm not sure he's going to get the gauges he wants out of a 89 computer. Fuel and oil aren't hooked to the computer in any way that would make for a good gauge. What exactly are hoping to see on the dash Bugalowjeep? |
