GM TH400 - Rebuilt

I have a TH400 that has 9500 miles on a rebuild. Worked awesome, just did a complete drive line swap on my truck so it was cut out of the picture. Had a $1300 rebuild done to it. I have the build sheet from the tranny shop. Comes with the tranny and torque converter. Always had a HD tranny cooler on it. Never beaten on. Had a dana20 bolted to the back of it. For another $100 you can have that too. It worked fine.

$400 for the tranny, $500 with the t-case and adapter.

Great proven tranny that will go many, MANY more miles.

I am looking for a Warn M12000 or M15000 winch if you want to trade.

Located in Western NY

I think that is the AMC bolt pattern on the bell of the TH400.

Why isn't it a TH400? It doesn't have an AMC bolt pattern on the front, it had an adapter ring from the factory on it to mate it to a AMC 360. It is a 1972 tranny, may not look the same as a 80's one or something.

Not to kill your sale on this. The Chevy starter is on the Passenger side. Here is my 454 bolted to my TH350. The Chevy bolt pattern is the same for small block and big. Hell a straight 6 Chevy will bolt up to a TH400 or TH350. The starter being on the drivers side is not right for a Chevy that I have ever seen.

This is what I found for you on another forum.

Depends on what version of the transmission CASE you have.
The internals are all mostly the same, it's the case that has been made in several different versions.

There is the B.O.P.. bell housing/bolt pattern,
Meaning it will bolt up to Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac,
There is the 'Chevy' case that will bolt directly up to any standard Chevrolet engine, I-4, I-6, V-6 or V-8, doesn't matter...

There is the AMC/Jeep version that will bolt up to any of the standard I-6 or V-8 AMC engines.

I would say you have a AMC TH400 and it will need adapter to fit something other then a AMC.

AMC is passenger side starter too. If you look in one of the pics, there is an adapter ring sitting on top of the tranny. Thats the ring that made it bolt to the AMC v8...

Alright, I did some searching and I can't figure out what that pattern is for on the front of the tranny. I do know that with the adapter ring I have for it, IT WILL bolt to an AMC engine.

I was not trying to bust your balls! I just read your title for it "GM TH400 - Rebuilt" Then looked at it and knew that was not a GM bolt pattern. When you see GM in the title most are looking for a GM pattern. If you get a newbie that is not up to speed with bolt patterns he would buy and then shit hits the fan. I would not want to see you sell it or the buyer find out later that it would not fit. Just trying to make it easy for both you and the buyer in the long run...

No worries, I appreciate the help. I have never dealt with a chevy engine before, so I assumed it was a Chevy bolt pattern.

I am still trying to figure out what pattern that is too, I had a 72 that I parted, had a Buick engine in it and had the same adapter ring to mate to this tranny, but I know it's not chevy nor BOP, and it doesn't bolt straight to the AMC engine.
