98 4.3 Vortech, 4L60E, Adapter, 4.0 23 spline case

Thinking about going with a bigger engine since the whole truck has not sold. Anybody else get bored with stuff as fast as me?

Has about 10-12K miles only.

98 4.3 V6
98 4L60E tranny with short shaft mated to
Advance Adapters 23 spline toyota tcase adapters to
4.0 to 1 geared 23 spline tcase.
Engine and tranny run perfect.
Has a slight ticking noise in tcase.
Comes with Fastchip computer which was about $350.

Still in truck, can drive before you buy.
If I can get $3000 I will sell it.

Hi Jamie,

It is a very minor ticking noise, and I might not even notice it if I had a nice tight boot around the shifter. It also popped out of low range and into neutral sometimes, but I am pretty sure that is because of the twin stick shifter. Just need to grind on the shifter a bit. I pulled the tcase apart a couple weeks ago, and replaced the 4wd shift fork and ring which had some wear on the fork, but I could not see anything that I thought would have made my ticking noise. I might take you up on that 23 spline stocker, if you want to take mine apart and fix whatever you find. Heck, if you want, I will take it apart again while you are here so you can look at it first. I have thought about switching to dual 23 spline 2.28 cases instead of the 4 to 1 single case.

Take care,

mark
