258 to 4.0 head conversion
I have a fairly complete 4.0 Head conversion from clifford performance that i am selling. I ran it on my 258 for a while. I put the conversion on a tired engine and it made a big difference. only problem my rings were just about gone and i decided on a new engine for the jeep. so im selling this stuff off.
4.0 head conversion
- Clifford performance 4.0 head
o Oversized valves, heavy duty valve springs to accommodate cam
o All new rockers
- Dual outlet header
-freshly painted with POR-15 factory manifold gray (has not been run since paint)
- Clifford heated aluminum intake,
o has built in water jacket to warm the intake during winter
o also has an adapter on it for a 4-brl carburetor
o wire brushed cleaned and ready to go
- valve cover for a 4.0 fits head
o has new oil cap and new breather gaskets
o freshly painted with black high temp paint
o Clifford’s 264 duration cam
o it is used I would recommend buying new lifters to go with the cam
o I could include the used lifters

I was wondering about the exhaust.. I ordered the intake and wasnt sure if my intake will clear the exhaust manifold .. Currently Im using a 1991-96 cherokee exhaust manifold with the 4.2 intake .. but I had to grind clearance into the 4.2 intake to clear one of the exhaust tubes, i broke into the water jacket on the intake so i just dont run the coolant thru it...The intake has not arived yet.. I may need to purchase a header.... just thought Id ask. you can see a picture at www.rickmitchell.net thanks... Rick
