Feeler - ZF 6 speed manual tranny
I will have a tranny up for sale in about a month or so. It is a ZF-6 speed out of a 99 f-250 diesel 4x4. Third is slowly on their way out (hard to get into gear sometimes) but low, 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th work perfect. The tranny has 212,000 miles on it. These rebuilt go for about $1,800...good for a crawler (if you can get it to fit). Like I said, 3rd is going but is definitly not completely gone...most of the time it will work without having to force it. I am thinking $600 (OBO) for the tranny. If anybody has any offer or better price range for it let me know.
I have no problem getting it on a pallet and helping out any way I can, but the actual shipping cost will be up to the buyer. I have looked around and have seen them shipped from around 100 bucks up to almost 200.

I did a little research tonight (about 10 min worth) and haven't found anything yet. You have me curious though so I will keep looking around to see if anybody makes an adapter.

Biggest problem that I see is that the bellhousing on the ZF that I have is not removable. Not sure if it would work with the shortblock. You could always say screw it and throw in a 7.3 diesel
. I will keep looking though. Anybody have any other ideas?

From what I found it does not look like you can adapt this ZF to a sbc. Anybody have any offers?

I searched and the only thing I could find was that it has been done. Here is the link to the forum http://www.thedieselstop.com/forums/...d-swap-154509/ I am not a part of that forum so I couldn't search for the guy names "jaybee" that they were talking about.

296 views and not a single offer...damn
By the way, I do know that they make adapters to add the ZF 6 speed to a dodge 5.9L cummins...just in case anybody was wondering about that one. There is actually an adapter on e-bay right now... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/5-9L-...QQcmdZViewItem Another one just in case anybody is curious about putting a cummins into a ford... http://www.fordcummins.com/
