2.5L grand vitara engine swap
I need to sell this project that never got started. Asking 650.00. Below is the original post message from the guy i bought it from. Call or text for questions. 940-389-4397 Thanks Jeremy.
I just pulled this out of my samurai. I've been running it since 2003 with absolutely outstanding reliability. I bought a complete 2001 Chevy Tracker (rebadged grand vitara) in 2003. It had been rolled with 907 miles on it. Yes, you read that right, less than a thousand miles on it. The donor vehicle was a 2wheel drive with automatic. I had this setup mated to a samurai transfer case and toyota axles. I converted the harness to run stand alone, and will include the factory service manual that details all the wiring for the motor. The only problem it had was that I was never able to get the heated O2 sensor circuit to work properly, so the motor always ran open loop. This was never a problem for me, just being up front about it. The lower oil pan has a crack in it that is JB welded shut. It's been running like this the entire time I've had it in my rig and it's never leaked. I considered welding the crack many years ago but did not want to distort the cast aluminum. Since it never gave me a problem I never messed with it again. The motor and transmission are still mated together and sitting on a pallet ready to ship. I would estimate the weight of the entire pallet to be less than 600 pounds. I will work with you if you'd like to arrange shipping. I'm not sure what this is worth. I'd like to get $800 out of it for everything. That is nowhere near what I have in it either in capital or hours spent modifying the wiring harness, but it'll at least offset the cost of the gear and bearing kit for my new Dana 300. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
