Right now, this is what we have.
It works pretty well for easy trails. 1992 Dodge Cummins 4x4 and a 1997 Casita 17ft trailer. It's a start. Last edited by p14175; 05-01-2008 at 08:53 PM. |

rebuilt engine 96 30-40le transmission 96 driveshafts and LS rear axle straight through exhaust bosch injectors out of 94 volvo 960 high output fuel pump skyjacker shocks got rid of the carpet hella driving lights extra trans cooler added a electric fan to go with the manual one home built bumper that is a bit too heavy wheel spacers 1.5 in per side 32x11.5 bfg at heavy duty cross over steering switches for shifting and tc lock up home made 3" lift k&n corvette diesel oil filter with higher bypass psi home made rear diff guard sawed out fenders got rid of both the sway bars lots of little things mostly. I need to make a roof rack so I can get some of the crap out of the back. I going to build something bigger for expedition type stuff, a wagoneer or j10 I think. Then make this more of a toy or something it get really bad mileage in town I think it's partially the gearing 3.55s. |

1997 Hilux, 2.4D
Wheel &tire 31" MT/R Custom made 1.5" longer then stock springs with 3" lift. Bilstein 5150 rear & Tough-Dog HD front shocks. Sway-bar disconnect, Custom made Front winch bumper & rear. Home made Rock rails. Home-made snorkel. Front & rear E-locker. Flat cross member. Fuel tank skid plate. E-loker guards,Axle armor and more. This is my daily drive well so most wheeling gear is packed in plastic and metal boxes that fit the truck bed for max' storage efficiency. Gas stove, 40 L of water in two plastic cans with tap on the cap and more. 60L original fuel tank gives me about 400km between fueling when going off road and a 20L spare tank gives extra 150 km. Typical look when wheeling. ![]() ![]() ![]() gas stove when closed and when on duty. ![]() simple water tank..X2

Early picture of my (new to me) 1979 Unimog. I will get to update pics when i finally get my hands on it. I plan for it to be my DD/expo/trail rig/car crusher
![]() I will mostly do interior sound proofing and fix things that come with a rig sitting for a year. wish me luck...oh, i will also run it on veggy oil...

Dana 44 SAS'd Mitsubishi Montero Sport. Almost everything that might break or cause problems has been replaced with commonly available parts. The Mitsu t-case is in the process of going away. That's being replaced with dual NP231s. I'll hold enough supplies for a week and a half for two and a week for four. Two can sleep in the vehicle so we don't usually bring a tent for myself and my SO. Loaded to 6400 GVW it still gets 17-18 mpg - and it'll go dang near anywhere off road even loaded. Also doubles as my daily driver work truck. :-)
