Watched a little bit of it, seems like the Porsche's were dominating at the beginning.

How do people find out about events like this?
I've never heard of this rally, but it sounds really cool.
I have also heard of some rallies in southern Africa which they can provide the vehicles for a nominal fee.
Question is, how do you find out about these events? Is there a website out there that is involved with hooking competitors up for these?

The Yota team was even on their way to holiday I might add, the rallye just happened to take the same route

@TAB
There's a lot of promotion going on around the 4x4 scene in Europe about such events. There not even very expensive, 5k$ will buy you the starting fee, ferry cost from Italy to Tunisia and mostly accomondation and food during the rallye.

I stumbled across this on the TeeVee too.

It was curious that while the majority of competitors were the obviously commonly sponsored Porsche(s)? - the CP vehicles were Defenders?

The CP guys had to get there somehow without a tow truck
Porsche sponsors 26 Cayennes each year, but not with Porsche Motorsports as one would think, instead they're organized by Porsche public relations.
The Cayennes are currently parked under a tent with all the spare parts at the Porsche plant waiting for next years Transsyberia.
A friend of mine has direct contact to the people in charge at Porsche and tries to talk them into some more races with those. We already volounteered as drivers in case they get them into comps during the year
