Cheap battery “juice” meter/guage

Been looking around for a cheap meter/gauge that will allow me to measure voltage from the battery and ,more importantly for what I want, also provides the % of battery life left until its dead based on the load.

Searched the net keeping in mind a reasonable price range ($150 is over what I want to spend). There seem to be a few that hook directly to the battery (preferred option) and some that plug into the cigarette lighter (would like to avoid these).

What are you using?

I did find one called the “Battery Bug”. Looks like a good solution and fairly cheap (well, kinda). The cheaper version is not for a deep cycle battery.

Also found this one which I liked - still kinda of spendy though.

Talked with the guys at West Mountian and they said that device has limited use in cars bc the current is actually measured in the negative lead.

Anyone else out there have anything?

Taking the "price" constraint off... what are you actually using?
