Of course as a non-profit we all volunteer our time to get more handicapped folks out into the backcountry. But it is also fun to introduce the general public to the "expedition" style 4wd.
We had a great chance this last weekend to not only talk with quite a few disabled folks but to demo our setup for everyday people also.

Wow what a weekend! 23, 000 people the first day and nearly that the second! This event is put on by Arizona Game & Fish to showcase hunting, fishing, shooting sports, wildlife conservations, and Off Highway Vehicle recreation to the public.
We owe a debt of gratitude to Game & Fish for allowing non-profits to setup free of charge. Being all volunteers here at DE and donation supported we work to keep cost as low as possible. Not only that but they gave us a great display area next to the rockcrawling demo course. People were continually drawn from the nearby shuttle stop by the Roof Top Tents waving in the wind.

First off, it's really cool what your organization is doing not only to help the handicapped gain backcountry access but also trying to educate the general public. Those are some impressive numbers of people; even if 10% of those people bring home and remember some of what you showed them it could make a huge impact.

Along the same lines. I have a disabled friend and we were looking for some exemption or provision that would allow her to use a atv or motorized vehilce in places where they normally aren't allowed. Otherwise it is very tough for her to access most areas. Do you guys know of anything like that in any of the states or fed land?
