LED light at my XJ

When travelling and exploring remote areas, some more light couldnīt hurt, right? So we installed a SuperVision LED light (60 LEDs, 3W each) just in front of my roof rack. Iīll take the rig to the franco-italian-alps tomorrow and hope for some night wheeling.

Ya post up a picture with just the light bar on. I'm curious as to how much area that lights. Looks pretty impressive though!

Surprisingly effective lighting too!

I've been drooling over LED lights for awhile, I just can't swallow the prices yet.

Ya that's the manufacturer, but it looks like you have to buy from a dealer. Which means prices will vary

Thatīs the LED bar and the crappy main OEM lights of my XJ - which you canīt see.

You buy the LED bars through local dealers, just like Osram, Hella and other manufacturers. Prices vary a bit, not much, at least here in Germany.

The pricing isnīt cheap, thatīs right - but compared to other quality manufacturers (not the cheapo-china-ebay-stuff) they are absolutely OK, I think.

Iīve just returned from a wheeling trip to the alps where we took some photos of the light and itīs performance - hope to have them ready to post by weekend.

That would be the source for the US. Here in Germany itīs Global Offroad, which is the distributor, which has itīs dealers.

Interesting, they look to be the exact same thing as Phantom LEDs, which are damn close, if not the same as Vision X, but they have more of the Vision X line it seems.

Got 3 8" 12-led Phantoms for the front of the Disco, so far in the garage they're bright as hell, can't wait for my truck to be done so I can go try them out in real-life.

That's funny. They look just like the Phantom lights because they are from the same company in China that copied the Vision X light. The China lights are pretty bright and as long as you get them at a great price they are worth it. But they are lot nearly as bright as the Vision X light.

Those look great! They would be wonderful with my 60A alternator lol
Have been dreading the high amp draw and possibility of broken lenses of hallogen lights.

That's what I figured at first, but the European company that the OP got his from has Vision X's entire product line on their site. I can see knocking off one or two products, but an entire product line?

Anybody actually know where Vision X lights are made, can't find it on their site? Not just assembled, but where all the parts are made.

As far as the brightness, The Phantoms seem about as bright as the Vision X, neither of which is as bright as Rigid

I got mine from these guys phantom-lighting.com/ Only time will tell if they'll hold up as well as the Rigid LED bars, but they can't be worse than the Vision X HIDs.

Vision X Lights are made in Taiwan. The company in China copied everything that Vision X makes. Everything but the electronics. I have the name of that company someplace in an email. They contacted all kinds of people looking for distributors in the US. It's a mess.

I've done comparisons with all kinds of lighting...

All 3 pictures were taken with the same camera settings.

phantom-lighting.com is the place to get the Vision X looking China lights. Kyle is a really nice guy and he also deals with HIDs.

As maxyedor said, neither the Phantom or Vision X is as bright as the Rigid light. Rigid just updated their electronics so now they are even brighter. But all of that brightness comes at a price.

Nice thread so far. I will clear all this up. The Supervion light in the original photos are the same as VisionX. They are sold under different brand names in different countries, and are made in the same factory. VisionX lighting, is a U.S. based company, based in Seattle, WA and Scottsdale, AZ. All the design and engineering is done in the US. The manufacturing of VisionX LED Xmitter, HID and some other products are done in Korea. The small, LED rock lights, Tantrum kits, under car, misc. driving lights, replacement bulbs, etc.. are done in China and Taiwan.

The Phantom LED bars are COMPLETE KNOCK-OFF, RIP-OFF copies of the VisionX Xmitter. They are indeed made in China with different tooling, aluminum extrusions and most importantly electronics, which are inferior and will fail. This company is in violation of EVERY patent that VisionX has on the Xmitter LED light bar and WILL BE shut down!! If you buy a phantom light, you may save a few bucks, but you are getting a copy from a company that is not going to be around very long and when that light fails, which it will, you will be SOL!! All VisionX lights come with a Lifetime warranty! That's right, lifetime. And VisionX has been in business for over 15 years.

VisionX USA and Visionxstore.com are The Official Light of Pirate4x4 and King of The Hammers. All products are available online at www.visionxstore.com and all Pirate members receive a 10% discount and free shipping when you use "piratex" coupon. When you buy here, a portion of ALL sales go back to KOH.

Feel free to call me at (949) 713-5193, or VisionX directly at 888-489-9820 at anytime with any questions.

You must have looked at the new Xmitter Elite. That bar is $2,300.
The light bar like the one on this Jeep is the XIL-800, 42", 80-LED light bar.
List price is $1,675. Roughly the same light output as 4-HID's, but much lower profile, single wiring installation, one switch, etc..

However, we are running a special for a very short time http://www.visionxstore.com/product_...roducts_id=429
and you can get this light for $1,299. This is techinically a xil-800.s, which excludes the wiring harness from the packaging, and you have to supply your own or get one from me (no charge).
