Royal Geographical Society

Not sure how many of you are aware of the FREE downloads you can get from the RGS site.
Expedition Handbook
this is just a sample and there is lots more in pdf form. I keep it all on my laptop that is used for navigation so I have it as a reference and reading material if I get bored.

Something else fun...
Ever since I was a kid watching Wild Kingdom and reading books on Africa and other expedition goals I had heard about the Royal Geographical Society.
This summer as my son & I backpacked around Europe I made a point of visiting the RGS, spending some time in the Foyle Reading Room (amazing) and just being a pest. You should have seen the looks on their faces as I tried to talk them out of a first edition of the VDEG they had just laying on a file cabinet.
Anyway I recently got a packet in the mail and couldn't help put post it up. I tried not to but it such a fun personal thing after all the hard work on Disabled Explorers and really is more of a reflection of everything I have learned from folks on the forums and from Overland Traning.

So from now on it is 1 Leg Lance FRGS thank you very much...yeah I know goofy but something fun to share with friends.

Excellent!

Do we have to call you "Sir" now?

Does anyone else see the irony in the headline on the upper right.

Dude that is the funniest thing I have seen all week. I have had that issue around for a while, poured over every page and never connected the mental dots.
Very funny and thanks for the laugh..

Oh and no need for Sir yet...and Mr FRGS doesn't roll out too well as adding a vowel makes it FRoGs real fast

The only part of this post that really matters is the reference to all the free downloadable reference material. Great classic expedition reading.
