I'll post up my new ride in a few. I'm excited that I'm back in a van, a 4x4 van to be exact! The interior is pretty set up but I'm not sure if it will suit my needs.
1989 Ford E-350 Extended 4x4
D60 Leaf Sprung front axle
D60 Rear axle
4 spd automatic trans w/OD
7.3l IH IDI Diesel engine
Dual fuel tanks, 15 + (approx 25) ~40gal total capacity
Some notes -
It has the 15 passenger seat mounts but I don't see the horizontal reinforcement bars that I think are supposed to be present on them.
It 'sort of' has the windows of a club wagon. Notice that there are no windows on the body extension where the 4th row seat would be.
It's a sliding door body, which will be a prob.
When I got it, glowplugs were burned out (all of them), gpc was partly dismantled, wiring harness was in pieces and left front leaf spring was snapped in half and did not match right front leaf spring.
All in all, this van was pretty much my entire wishlist. Everything I had hoped I would find except for the sliding door. I paid $4900 for it, and then another $1200 to have it shipped from Cali to TX.
Working on restoring and modifying it to suit now.
The stuff I made for the Chevy van came back from powder recently and I got to do the final install. I'm excited about how they came out! I hope I get to do more of these vans, fun project.
1987 G20 Shorty van.... Dana 60 on 52" leaf springs up front, w/4.10's, truetrac, high-steer, and yukon hardcore hubs. A 14 bolt on 64" leaf springs in the rear, w/4.10's, yukon grizzly, and disc brakes. Bilstein 5125's all the way around. TBI 350, BUILT 700r4, NP205 transfer case. 16x8 ION alloy w/315/75/16 Mastercraft MXT's. She's almost road-ready, still needs brake lines and driveshafts. Then I can work on paint and interior...

Here is my 1990 3/4 ton 15 passenger van! Planning on taking it from Tillamook Oregon to Pikes Peak for the race then to Lowville New York and back this summer! She has a 350 small block with a th400 and sf 14 bolt. Plans for it, TCI tranny pan with cooling tubes, exhaust wrapped in that kevlar stuff from exhaust manifold to end of tranny. Roof rack and awning, tinted windows, bench seat in the middle so the 3 boys can sleep on the floor between the front seats and the wife and i can have a bed in the back. Honda 2000 gen to run a heater at night and a portable ac unit during the day, should save me on fuel.
Also might snowseal the roof for deading sound and reflecting heat. I want to put a big hot wheels swoop down the side too, thought that would look cool with the m/t baja wheels i have to put on it. Suggestions, critics, places to see, things to do/not do are welcome and appreciated greatly!!!
Bitchin'. Thanks for the link, that's a great story. Wish I could do something like that. Bet he was wondering why there were so many EB's at Gas Monkey Grill.
While we were at Lake Powell, we did a 1 day van adventure from Lone Rock to Grand Bench and back. It was a long day (11 hours!)
We'll probably camp next time. LOL.
I did find a very interesting road into a large canyon, but didn't want to do it without another rig. The first decent was a full commitment type of deal. Google Earth revealed a lot of what looked like roads/trails...but they could just be sand washes. Who wants to go on an adventure? Could be a "3 hour tour" kind of trip. I'll bring a dirt bike to go get help if needed. But don't come if you aren't mentally prepared for shit going a little sideways.
Just getting familiar with her it's a 03/chassis off of a f250 super duty, Dana 60 front and rear with limited diffs. Semi bags and four link rear, 3" coils front. 25 gallon air with dual compressors. 5.4 Triton (which came with a roush charger uninstalled) body is an 02 high top conversion extended. Has a decent system and a drop down DVD but nothing else has been done yet. Oh and a 12000 pound winch and a ton of auxiliary lights and a battery management system
Got out and did a little trail riding yesterday over in LBL (western kentucky)... I don't have a front driveshaft yet, so she's still only 2wd. We went anywhere we wanted to go though, good thing I got that rear locker!
Made a few upgrades to the Green Machine since I was last on here. It has turned out pretty well, and I haven't been able to break anything yet! Oversized down pipe to the turbo, 4" exhaust from the turbo back, Edge Evo tuner, air bags to help the rear suspension, Dometic free standing awning, wheels and tires, flares and other odds and ends.
I'll probably make one after its finished. I've taken a lot of pics just haven't sat down and organized them and wrote stuff down.
