2003 ranger 2.3l ecm?

The buggy is nearly done, but no injector pulse. Everything tests ok - but no pulse. The usual stuff has beed removed, and even with a new flash, tuning off those items = no pulse. Cosworth intake and shorty header, c4 trans, manual switch for: fuel pump, ecm power, starter, alternator stator, and cooling fan. Removed: egr, downstream o2 sensor, all speed sensors, a/c sensor, all fuel pressure/temperature sensors, tumbler sensor, power steering pressure sensor, and all transmission sensors. There is an ecm input for fuel pump "on" but doesn't seem to make any difference when 12volts is applied. Has spark, and turns over, and 70 lbs. fuel pressure,just no pulse. Considering replacing ecm with a "mega-squirt", but would rather not. Apparently the pats only disables the starter? Any suggestions? I have an sct flash programer, but the tuner tech has been unable to come up with a solution. Thanks.

Pats does indeed disable injector pulse. Some tuners can bypass it though. Also there are a few devices out there that can mimic pats. They are used for remote start applications. But you'll likely need a key to program one.

I got an ecm for a 1998 ztec escort - need to move a couple of pins around - but no pats till 1999. Has the same sensor inputs as duratec. Hope this works, tuner guy is emailing me a new tune.
