79 Ford 3/4t 2wd to 4wd swap?
I think I will be picking up a decent ford 79 3/4t 2wd ford truck. 460, auto, with a full floater rear end. I am hoping the frames are the same so I could possibly swap it over to 4wd? I will purchase a lift kit, but are the frames the same? can I fabricate spring mounts or are they bolt on? What t-case came on these early fords? Is it DR or Pass side drop? This doesnt sound to difficult but mounting the springs to the frame is the only tricky part. I know there is probably a shackle at 1 end but just curious how the other end mounts? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

4 Wheel and Off-road did an article on this exact thing last year I think. Check out the King Off-road racing shocks website and click on their magazine acticles section.
Here's a link: http://www.kingshocks.com/articles.htm There is a lot more than you think to this conversion. Sell the 2wd and get your self a true 4x4. Just my opinion. Dean
