EGR Delete
1996 F250 with a 5.8.
Had a manifold gasket leak. Bought a new manifold. Cracked the pipe connecting to the EGR. $150 for an EGR. I'm reading all sorts of stuff about an EGR delete. Can I just block off the port to the manifold and the port to the motor? Is it that simple? I also read that I'd have to do "computer work"? This only needs to pass safety since its GVW is over 8000 so I have some leeway there. Thanks. This is my first Ford I've ever owned. Reading what I can, but this has me stumped. Thanks.

I your truck has the pressure differential sensor up on the firewall it will set a code. On the EEC trucks it won't as easy my friends truck we welded a plug into the exhaust manifold side and stuck a penny into the intake side gasket and it looks like its still operational but is capped off both sides.

RJM injection has an EGR eliminator plug for the computer as well as block off parts, from what I understand his customer service is lacking but everyone seems to get there parts sooner or later.
