Post ford newbie question

Just bought an '87 Ranger to drive this winter while my Cruiser is down. I am looking to upgrade the suspension in this bad boy. I have looked at James Duff and Skyjacker. Skyjacker is overpriced IMHO. $1250 for the Class II, but you still get blocks in the rear? James Duff looks like a good deal, but only 2.5" of lift (Ranger supercab). Are there other places to get about 4" of lift at a decent price? Just thought I'd ask. There doesn't seem to be a lot in the archives for Rangers. I'm only gonna run 31 SSR's on the truck, mild wheeling, etc. Would Duff be enough? hehehe, that rhymed. Other options? Thanks guys.

Hey Fullsize have you looked at Rough Countrythey seam to have some good stuff for a relativeally cheap price. I have the 4 inch lift and have a bunch of room for 31's. Go here I jsut look at the site and they have my truck there under the action shots page(its the Red Ranger )

Wow, where are you looking for a 4" skyjacker at?

I paid $1250 for my 6" class 2 and thats with rear leafs, shocks, ext radius arms, and new tranny crossmember.

Check National wheel and tire. I've been hearing a lot of bad things about the Duff shit. But you know how that goes, one person has a brain fart installing something, and everyone thinks the lift company sucks.

I have what you need... Skyjacker Class II arms, leafs, pivot brackets, etc....too bad you live too far away... But to clear 31's all you really need is about 2.5" of lift, and a little trim...

I called skyjacker and that was the price they quoted me. I thought it was way too steep, but I'm sure they sell them to somebody.

Rough Country looks promising. I'll have to give them a call. What kind of flex do you get with their kit?

1uglyranger-- Are you selling your lift? Are you opposed to shipping? Reply or email me at fullsize40@hotmail.com with more info.

Also, anybody running Eibach coil springs up front? If so, are they any good? Also, any contact numbers to buy just the rear springs for cheap?

Thanks for all the replies. I was beginning to feel ignored.

I am selling it, but I am thinking the shipping is too damn much money... so I decided against shipping...

to comment on what Radioflyer said. I've got an uncle who works at Central Four Wheel here in sac. and i was talking to him about lifting my f 150 before i had to sell it, and i looked at the rough country lifts, and he told me that the mechanics at the shop wouldn't even think about putting a rough country on a truck. they said that they have had to repair tons of rough country lifts. just my .02

BTW Radio: have you had any problems with it?

the rough country lift is very decent
the rear springs flex real nice after taking the over load out ,the front drop brackets are also decent but the front srings are a little stiff youll lift a tire real easy .
i ran that lift for two years and then went straight axle but still run the 4 inch leafs in rear .
