why would you really want to? You can get mini-spools for 9"s for $34 http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=2463

ya but why spend $34 on a mini spool when you can weld it for the price of one or two rods?? we welded my freinds and its taken major abuse with no problems on a fullsize bronc. btw dropouts are the easiest to weld up cuzz theres less to cover from the splatter and you can do it on your work bench.
my .o3 cents josh

I would (did ) buy a mini spool for it. It's so stinkin' cheap there's really not much of a reason not to.

I'd have to pass on the mini spool. Talk to EBSTEVE, he just bent the cross pin in his. So you would need a hardened cross pin ass well, and then you'd probably nuke the carrier since all the load is on the pin. Might as well weld it or buy a full spool.
If you just want to chirp your tires at the mall, then go with a mini spool. But we know that's not the case

I agree...I had a mini spool in mine, bent the hardened pin into an 'S' shape before it broke the carrier and trashed everything else inside. I say just weld it...if that breaks then get a full spool |

I also had problems bending the cross shaft with a mini-spool. I finally welded it up and it lasted for 3 seasons in my 460 powered 9" rear 88 mustang GT

Mini spool: RockRanger is correct. Overall, strength is the main difference. [ 09-21-2001: Message edited by: u2slow ]
