351w bellhousing vs 302 bell?

I was wondering if the 302 bell housing is the same as the 351w. I'm looking for an adapter for my toyota tranny. I'm not sure if the bell housings on the fords are the same so I thought I would ask the ford guys.

Thanks

Neil.

255,289,300,302,351W, and 351C all share the same bellhousing.

please note, early 289 from cars(mustangs, rancheros, and falcons) have a 5 bolt bellhousing, while the newer ones have 6 bolts.

well then on the same note, there are also some 351M's with the SB pattern

Yes, I believe it was pre 66' and only on toploaders and cruise-o-matics.

I'm pretty sure there was no 351M with the SBF pattern, but there was a 74' 400 with the SBF pattern, backed by a FMX.

thanks for all the insite. D-Diesel, I'm running a stock 4cyl. tranny. The combo will be too much out put for the tranny but I have never been a goose'r or a heavy right foot. so the tranny should last for a bit. but I'll deal with that road when I cross it.

Thanks again.

Neil

bolt pattern to the block is the same however there are some variations as to the diameter of the hole for the input shaft coming from the transmission for ford apps I have not found a situation that it matters. AA makes a point for the NV4500 swap you must have the larger bore.
