i just read 490# w/ stock manifolds. this from a pretty reputable source. does this sound bout right to anyone?

Ford Power products(Ford's industrial engine devision) lists a carburated 300 as 495 LBS, complete, with alternator, flywheel, clutch, and bellhousing(cast iron on an industrial). So, a truck engine is probably pretty dang close.

I dunno jack about sixes, so I just popped over to FTE and looked at with the 300 experts there said...which was 600# fully dressed. But that sure looks high compared with perf. unlimiteds measurements...I think I'd trust the others guys calls of 500# more.

I'm betting that perf. unlimited's measurement is minus acessories, and manifolds.
If I had some sort of scale that went that high, I'd weigh my 300, it's just sitting in the corner of the shop right now...
