for a 78 bronco,metallic green.Does anybody know offhand and or point me in the right direction.

Go to a local autobody supplies place and ask to look at their colour chips.

If it is a stock color the color code it will be on the jamb of the driver's door. It will be on a metal tag, near the bottom of the tag it will say "Ext Pnt _ _" It will be a letter followed by a number. TAke it to your local paint supply store and they can mix it there for you.
