broken radius arm

My brother broke the drivers side radius arm on his 96 F150 drivers side, where can he get aftermarket arms that are either tubular or extended? Or both. HE already has the SUperlift 4' kit on the truck...

Depending on how soon he wants it, I've got the stock ones on my 93 that I'd let him have, but it'll be another week or so before I'll be able to take them off. Of course, it's not aftermarket, but if he does end up needing them, let me know in a week or two and I'll see what I can do.

You can try www.Wildhorses4x4.com. They are located in Stockton, CA and have a good catalog online to browse.

Both Skyjacker & Superlift have extended arms.
The Skyjacker is tubular, the Superlift, welded/boxed.

Tuff Country makes some also, but they appear a bit flimsy.

The Superlift F-150 arm APPEARS to be pretty stout, but the same can't be said about almost anything else they make TTB related (including their Ranger radius arms)

I've yet to see a tweaked Skyjacker Ranger radius arm, but I have seen one tweaked fullsize one.

How 'bout making your own arms out of stockers using DOM tube? Then you can make it as strong as you want.

OKAY, first thanks for all the replies...he cannot make them as he has no fab skills and I will probably end up installing them for him anyway...

next, he called and said he ordered a set of extended tubular arms from a company called BDS for about $400 includes shipping and the drop brackets that mount farther back on the frame than the factory OR the replacement drop brackets that gave it the lift before. They assured him he would have them by Friday and that they would be direct replacements for what he has and his 4" lift would be maintained.

So, has anyone else BROKEN these? they are factory units and the drivers side one broke where it goes from stamped metal to the threaded section...it was not the threaded area that broke. and I can guarantee you that this truck hasn't seen any REAL offroad since the lift was install a few months ago. It is a DD and sees some MILD off pavement use in OKLA and some trail runs in COLO...

I will get some pix this Sat and post them so you can see what happened and the solution.

thanks again.

The stock arms are pretty stout.

Yea, post some pics.

I can't say anything about the BDS arms for strength (not familiar with them), but I know their warranty is a big thing with them. Supposedly they'll replace anything no questions asked.

I had a ProComp 6" lift with the extended rad arms I broke the driver side while in town (well that is when I found out) that sucked but I sent it to them they sent me a new set. That was after about 2yrs of wheeling it. It broke at the "C" both ears broke off

Oh I would not run drop brackets

Yeah, I helped a buddy out a few weeks ago with the same exact thing. He was replacing radius arm bushings on a stone-stock Bronco. Put a wrench on the radius arm nut, and twisted the stud right off ... just like your photo. I'd never seen it before... and he's not a big guy... and his cheater wasn't that big. So your guess is as good as mine.

Those bushings on the old arm wouldn't happen to be those super-hard almost like plastic ones would they? I wonder if that could've caused it to snap. I've seen such bushings at an autoparts store and was like "WTF!??"

The old bushings are poly and pretty stiff, but they have wear marks in them, so they must not be that hard...not like the rubbers that were there...anything is possible...

the ride with the new longer arms is like night and day compared the the originals...talk about a smooth ride...and the flex is TWICE as good, the shock is now the limiting factor for downtravel and the factory placed top bumpstop can be contacted in uptravel....
