Matt, I did a writeup of my Superlift 6" install on my 89 Bronco, with a lot of pictures, it might be helpful to you.

Brian,
That was a great writeup. I think that kit or possibly the 8 inch is what he is planning on getting. Where did you get those monster jack stands? Also I noticed that you are going with a solid front 44. I found the kit for that and want to talk my brother into that swap. Were you not happy with the TTB flex and strength? What is the new kit you bought to go with the solid? Thanks Quote:

I have certain opinions about Ford's TTB setup. In an unlifted truck, I think it's fine. With a couple inches, still probably pretty much ok. Once you get up there at all tho, alignment becomes a major issue, and the arms are prone to damage, especially if you run a locker in the front end. As far as flex goes... Nuff said. The solid 44 swap that I'm doing is not a kit, I've pieced together what I think is a very workable combination. The D44 I'm using is from a 1979 Bronco; I'm also using the upper coil mounts from the 79 for two reasons - they're separate from the shock mounts so I can use longer shocks, and they're about 1.5" taller than the 89 upper coil mounts, so I can use longer coils - in my case, Superlift 6" for a 79 Bronco (about 2" longer than the Superlift 6" for my 89 that are on there now.) I'm using the extended radius arms that James Duff offers, they have a ton of offset, enough so that with my quick testing it appears that my u-joints will limit me before I'll hit the radius arms with the 14.5" wide SSRs I'm using. I did have to cut off the built-in shock studs tho. I'm using the steering assembly (over the knuckle) and trackbar assembly from Performance Unlimited, still need to design and build the trackbar mount, that's my biggest holdup right now. There are several things with the Fabritech kit that I don't like, I feel like they made a number of compromises that do indeed make it easier to install, but leave you short in the long run. That enough detail for ya? If not, feel free to email me at brian@soderblom.net and ask away...
