Post big block EB

Anyone on the list ever stuff a 460 big block under the hood of an early bronco? Is it possible without many mods to make it fit? What do you think? 460 EB?

Snowball had that setup when he was in TTC. I think the bigget drawback is how front heavy it is. the bronco is already front heavy with the motor right over the front axle. This is good for hill climbs but not so good for dana 44 life.

Snowball (Mike Ladd at www.bentandtwisted.com) has the same 460 posted in the For Sale forum if you're interested.

Just bought a 514 crate for the F250. It might be more fun in the EB though. The engine bay is empty so I will have to see if it fits. I might have a new project on my hands!

i got the snowball rig now. as mike tells m all it needs is a peice of steel fabed. way easy. and also the right side of the motor will hit the firewall. just barely, little hammer work and your cool. im going to be running 460-c6-203-205 and the 100 wheelbase helps for drive lines. there isnt much left of the rig anymore. and i plan on doing some serious changes, no more ugly stuff, sorry mike the fenders got to go. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> but its basically what i want. just need to sell my bronco.
pat.

oh yeah i forgot, mike said the 460 is in the neighborhod of 200 lbs heavier the 302, and 60 of that can be saved by putting a alum. manifold. and i think he said it was like 180 lbs. so its about 120 heavier. and stock 460 has about 350+ hp and 500 torque compared to the 302s 200 and 300. for 150 more hp and 200 more torque ill lose 120 lbs off my belly first. its gonna be pimp, just think of building the 460 up

What do you mean by all it needs is a piece of steel fabbed? Fabbed for what? Do you have to do anything to the motor mounts/towers? How do you plan on extending your wheel base? Link setup? Where will your fuel tank be? Are you keeping the radiator in the front or putting it in the back? What was 180lbs? I kind of lost you there. What axles you throwing under it? Sounds like a sweet project. Keep us posted.

ok sorry, i know that was a bad post. ok all it needs i the piece of steel fabbed on th motor mounts. you use the stock mounts, but this peice of metal will bolt it to the orrig. spot. if anyone knows mikes old bronco they will know its not much of a bronco anymore. the whole back of the tub is cut off. so that made it easy to extend the wheelbase to 100. its running coils front and back. ok the 460 is about 200 lbs heavier then the stock 302. the radiator is in the back. and about 4-8 inches was cut off the front of the frame. it not pretty right now. mike built some huge fenders to cover the 44s and keep it street legal.

I guess I didnt realize you bought the whole thing. Last time I saw it it was on a trailer (yours?) in pieces. Was Mike able to still run inner fenders with the BB or did he HAVE to cut them out?

i dont know for sure, but i think you can make it fit, an keep the inner fenders, but you might want to cut them out for cooling

Bob from" All Four Fun" runs a fuel injected 460 in his Bronco and it fits and runs great. He might be able to give you some helpfull hints. His shop is located in Oregon.
