Check out the 3G write-up on the BroncOhio web site at:
http://www.broncohio.com It's a pretty good one for getting the 3G into an Early Bronco...

Next question is how many 3G's have Dustin, Jim, Brian, and whoever else burned up b/c they're crap? (and don't put out 130A anyway)
Methinks it isn't worth the trouble.

Mine was still going fine up to when I pulled the engine, will be going into my f-250 soon. I know that Jim went through at least two of them.

I burned out two before I learned not to hold the power window switches too long
I'm running a 100A large-case alt now, with external regulator.

So if the power windows were burning out the regulator, how would it stand up to long winching sessions? Seems to me like Jim told a story about burning up his alt, then his spare, then having to get a ride to Wal-Mart to buy batteries to get home.
My point is that the large-frame alt is more durable, puts out more current, and the 3G self-destructs if you look at it cross-eyed, and puts out less current at idle than the stock unit.

Not defending the 3G alt but I think the only reason someone would swap in a 3G over a large-case alt is that the 3G is pretty much almost a direct bolt-in where fab work is required for a large-case.
