Oops Help ?? 78 F250 4x4
During my front end brake/ujoint rebuild& replacement today I made a booo boo....Upon re installation I goofed on something.
1. Anyone know the proper torque specs of the spindle mounting nuts? 2. Now that I broke one..anyone know a good place to buy one? 3. Can I use a bolt ( better phrased as what grade/thread pitch should I use?) Guessing at torque ( hey and I even used a torque wrench for non educated guess)..I noticed they seem to break just around 100 ftlbs...lol. So i stuck a bolt in for tonight so I could get it back together. Used a 7/16 bellhousing bolt ( cause the grade 5 fine thread with nut 7/16 I also had...pulled all the treads out of the nut around 70 ftlbs). So I've taken stab # 2 and keeping it under 80 ftlbs. Help...? |
